On behalf of our Chapter, thank you for visiting
us. We are a very active Chapter helping vets with our VSO program,
participating in numerous charity and city events throughout Mohave
County, participating in parades, helping needy veterans and their
families, and have just started a Scholarship program.
We don't sit around drinking & whining about the past and bad
mouthing government policies. We do attend political rallies and
promote bills and laws to help veterans, city council meetings,
veteran councils, state and national VVA meetings and numerous
community agendas. We want the communities we service to see that
as Vietnam Veterans we do not hold a grudge about the way we were
treated. Through our efforts Mohave County has recognized our VVA
Chapter as an great asset.
Once looked down upon, Vietnam Veterans now are greeted everywhere
with a "Welcome Home" or "Thank you for your service" and a
handshake from the old and young. What a great time to be a
veteran! If you are not yet a member, please come to one of our
meetings or stop by our display booth at events in your community.
See what we do for past and present veterans and join us.
God Bless, and thank you. |

Welcome Home from Treasurer Charley Smith |

FROM THE TREASURER
The end of our chapters year is about here, we go from March 1 to
Feb. 28th and the state requires a report from each chapter and is
due by the 15th of March. I try to have my report done and mailed
off to the state by the first of march. And if we are late we could
loose our house hold moneys that the state gives us. We haven't been
late yet.
We have been getting less and less money from our state chapter, so
we do need to find a way to raise money for our programs that we do
have going now.
Don't forget your income tax, and our chapter also has to file
a report to the IRS. We are getting more and more equipment that has
been donated to our chapter and that also has to be inventoried.
Everyone I do hope you had a good 2008 and a better year 2009 to
come.
Charlie Smith

Welcome from Communications Officer Jim
Crumly |
| US Navy |
|
| |
We have just started
a New Year and our 3rd anniversary as a Chapter will soon
be upon us.
Starting from a
Chapter of 31 members and needing a loan for seed money, to what we
are
today -- one of the
fastest growing Chapters with almost 100 members in just 3 years.
We have accomplished a lot to
benefit and recognize the Veterans, both past and present in Mohave
County.
Thank You:
President Gene Crego
for your guidance
1st VP
Ralph Mckie For the words of encouragement, as well as a push once
in a while, (I think he was a drill instructor)
Sisto Sandoval our
Secretary for taking the minutes at the meetings.
Charley Smith our
Treasurer for keeping the books straight.
Tom Hanlon our
Chaplin for all the prayers, words of comfort, and the
“almost-weekly Dispatch”.
Dave Stafford our
Webmaster for, in my book, an award winning website.
As the
Communications officer I hope all the members are receiving the
bimonthly Newsletter, either via Email, on our website, or at the
meetings. If not, please
contact me.

Greetings From Chaplain Tom Hanlon |

|
| Message from the Chaplain. |
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Arms,
Another year has passed and 2009 is upon us. It was a blessing to be able to serve and with God’s grace and mercy, we will continue in our efforts to do His will for each of our members, families and active duty and veterans that He brings to us. I am especially thankful to Chap J Glen and Chap Sisto for helping to cover our wide spread geography and to back each other up when needed. A pastor friend of mine said “growing old is not for the faint of heart!” We all go through it from time to time and “brothers forever” we will continue.
Saint Paul tells us in Galatians chapter 6; 9-10: 9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. NLT
Let’s continue to pray for our Government, Servicemen and women and our fellow veterans and brothers and sisters in arms as we move forward into 2009.
Lord Bless and Keep You!
Chap Tom

Hi there, I would just like to say
that it has been a pleasure to be the webmaster this past year. We
have had hits from around the world with lots of attention from the
New York State Area. See the chart I have posted showing the
country's that have been checking us out. If any one out there has
photo's or commentary they would like to see on the website please
contact me via e-mail and I will review the information, if there
are any suggestions for a new area also let me know and I'll see
what I can do. I hope everyone has a great and prosperous New Year
in 2009 with few health issues or any other types of problems.
Dave
