WHO ARE
WE?
For the
Luv of Paws
is a
no-kill domestic animal rescue and sanctuary located in the Sacramento
Valley area on Old Rt. 66. Our “Pet Partners for Veterans with
Disabilities Program--Mohave County” is dedicated to helping veterans
with physical and/or mental disabilities acquire a pet companion and to
provide sustenance and medical care for the pet, when funding and
food supplies permit.
WHAT
SERVICES DO WE PROVIDE?
Our Pet
Partners for Veterans with Disabilities Program will provide:

Companion
animals at no cost to the veteran (cats or dogs)

Pet food
with home delivery, toys, treats, etc. when available.

Free
wellness examination certificate for use at our veterinary sponsors.
-
Transportation for the veteran and their pet to a veterinary hospital or
clinic for general health check-ups and repeat vaccinations.
FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE FOR THE FOLLOWING PET CARE EXPENSES, SUBJECT TO AVAILABLE
FUNDING:

Adoption
fees are waived.
-
Spay/neuter procedures are performed prior to adoption.
-
Vaccinations are given prior to adoption.
-
Repeat
vaccinations are provided through our veterinary sponsors.

Emergency
supplies.
WHO ARE
THESE SERVICES FOR?
-
Disabled
veterans residing in Mohave County **
-
Services
limited to domestic dogs or cats; no more than two (2) pet partners per
household.
-
All cats
and dogs will be spayed or neutered and have their vaccinations before
adoption.
-
Home
check is required to insure there are proper facilities for the cat
and/or dog, with follow up periodic checks to insure well being of the
veteran and his/her companion animal.
**
The veteran must have a physical residence, own, lease or rent
house, condo or apartment. Adoption
agreement must be completed, references checked; and if living
arrangements change, FLP must be notified
for another home check at new place of residence. If, for any
reason, the pet must be given up, the
pet must be returned to FLP.
